This triple stranded pot holder pattern works up super quick. Shown in Lily Sugar 'n Cream. Size 8mm (U.S. 11) knitting needles.
MATERIALS
Lily® Sugar ’n Cream (2.5 oz/70.9 g)
Main Color (MC): (White) 1 ball
Contrast A: (Blue) 1 ball
Contrast B: (Green) 1 ball
(Note: Use 3 strands of yarn.)
Size 8 mm (U.S. 11) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
GAUGE
10 sts and 15 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in
stocking st with 3 strands of yarn
INSTRUCTIONS
With 3 strands of B, cast on 17 sts.
1st row: (RS). K1. *P1. K1. Rep from *
to end of row.
This row forms seed st pat.
Work a further 7 rows in seed st pat.
With 3 strands of A, work 2 rows in
stocking st.
Next row: (RS). With 30 strands of MC,
knit.
With 3 strands of MC, work 3 rows in
seed st pat.
With 3 strands of B, work 2 rows in
stocking st.
Next row: (RS). With 3 strands of MC,
knit.
Work 7 rows in seed st pat ending with
RS facing for next row. Cast off in pat.
Loop: Cut 2 strands of MC 12 ins
[30.5 cm] long. Hold one end and with
someone holding other end, twist strand
to the right until it begins to curl. Fold the
2 ends tog and tie in a knot so they will
not unravel. The strands will now twist
themselves tog. Adjust length if desired.
Sew loop to corner of Pot Holder.
