Rep last row until work from beg measures 2 ins [5 cm]. Place marker on last row.
Cont even until work from marked row measures 5 (6-8) ins [12.5 (15-20.5) cm], ending with a RS row.

Finishing
Sew side edges tog. Fold top edge to marked row on WS to form casing and sew in position, leaving an opening to insert elastic.
Cut elastic to waist measurement and insert through casing. Sew ends of elastic tog securely. Sew opening closed. With A yarn, embroider pockets using running st. Sew Pockets to back of Skirt as shown in picture.

VEST

With MC, ch 40 (44-48).
1st row: (RS). 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 38 (42-46) hdc.
2nd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until work from beg measures 3 (3-4) ins [7.5 (7.5-10) cm], ending with a WS row.
Shape armholes: Next row: Sl st in each of first 4 hdc. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to last 4 hdc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 30 (34-38) hdc.
Next row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of row. Turn.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth and allow cloth to dry. Sew shoulder and side seams.
Buttonhole band:With RS facing, join MC with sl st to marked row of Right Front edge.
1st row: Ch 1. Work 17 (19-21) sc evenly along Front edge to neck shaping. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 sc. *Ch 2. Miss next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 (6-7) sc. Rep from * once more. Ch 2. Miss next sc. 1 sc in each of last 2 sc. Fasten off.

Buttonband
With RS facing, join MC with sl st to first row of neck shaping of Left Front edge.
1st row: Ch 1. Work 17 (19-21) sc evenly along front edge to marked row. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Fasten off.
Sew Collar to Neck edge as shown in picture. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
